How do I prepare a budget?
All applications need to be backed up with a valid budget. Items included in this should only relate to the event or activity being sponsored so the Panel can identify the use made of the various sources of funding and whether the activity could take place without the benefit of a Sportsmatch award. A booklet is available to download for free from our website detailing how to prepare a budget.
How do I account for the money?
When your activity/event has finished, accounts must be provided to Sportsmatch. If the organizing body has received an award of over £10,000, the accounts must be audited. If the award was less than £10,000 a certified income and expenditure statement must be provided.
Failure to produce adequate accounts may result in the award being withdrawn. Please note that when sending in the Accounts for your award, you will also need to forward invoices / receipts to evidence the project expenditure detailed in the project accounts.
